Leak Detection & Repairs
Leak Detection
Detecting leaks in a pool involves several methods to identify and pinpoint the source of water loss. First, a visual inspection of the pool is done to check for obvious signs of cracks, loose tiles, or damage. If no visible issues are found, a dye test can be used, where a non-toxic dye is applied around suspected areas like fittings or cracks to see if it is drawn toward a leak.
Another effective technique is pressure testing, which involves isolating sections of the pool’s plumbing and checking for pressure drops that indicate a leak. For more advanced detection, a microphone-based leak detection system can be used.
This method involves placing sensitive microphones along the pool structure to listen for the sound of escaping water, allowing professionals to identify the location of leaks even in hard-to-reach areas. These tools, combined with careful analysis, help to locate leaks accurately and efficiently.
Repairs
Pool repairs involve fixing various issues that can arise in the structure or plumbing.
Common repairs include sealing cracks in the pool surface, fixing leaks in the plumbing, patching holes or tears in liners, and repairing or replacing damaged tiles or coping. For structural issues, repairs might involve resurfacing the pool with materials like plaster, pebble, or fiberglass.
The process generally includes identifying the problem, preparing the area, applying the appropriate repair materials, and ensuring the repair is properly sealed and tested for durability and safety.
